Dr. Laura L. Ellingson is a scholar in the field of communication studies who often uses feminist approaches for her research. She conducts research on interpersonal communication within extended family networks and within health care organizations. Her primary interests are in communication between aunts, nieces, and nephews and in communication among interdisciplinary healthcare team members.

In this interview with Vandy, Dr. Ellingson discusses her recent co-authored book titled "Aunting".

Dr. Wittenberg-Lyles is a communication researcher whose focus is on communication in hospice teams. She is currently an Associate Professor in Communication Studies at and has won awards for her numerous articles and co-authored books. In this interview with Vandy, she talks about palliative care and hospice, and the importance of these discussions within families.
